The Centre for Counselling, Nutrition and Health Care (COUNSENUTH) is a leading Indigenous
Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) registered under Certificate of Ordinance No.9495 in 1998
that is committed to achieving optimal nutrition and quality life for children, women and other
vulnerable groups in Tanzania. COUNSENUTH works to improve the quality of life of vulnerable
groups through cost effective, innovative evidence-based nutrition actions with advocacy for better
governance and accountability and active engagement of citizens in health and nutrition.
Overview of the Position;
A Finance Intern will help in the implementation of policies and practices for financial management,
payroll, budget control, accounting and so on. By getting hands-on experience through working under
a Senior Finance and Administration Officer; He/She will be able to practically apply his/her
knowledge of financial laws, government policies in his/her day-to-day work at COUNSENUTH.
The Intern will report to Senior Finance and Administration Officer
Roles and Responsibilities include:
Assist on account data entry into the financial accounting system
Assist in the preparation of budgets
Manage records and receipts
Assist in reconciling daily, monthly and yearly transactions
Carry out financial documents review, ensuring all program expenditures are fully
supported with required documents.
Assist in preparing Payroll
Ensure that statutory payments such as PAYE, NSSF, HESLB and WCF are paid in
accordance to the statutory requirements.
Assist in preparing Banking reconciliation.
Assist in preparing programs financial reports and Annual Financial report.
Carry out administrative support services to the management.
Skills and Specifications
Advanced Microsoft excel skills
The interns must have knowledge of the basic principles and practices of
accounting and financial analysis
Should be capable of preparing files and maintaining records and documentation
Should have good written and oral communication skills
Strong ethics with an ability to manage confidential data

Qualifications and Experience
Must be a graduate; holding a bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Finance and
Accounts, Commerce or any other related field.
A CPA will be an added advantage
