The Centre for Counseling, Nutrition, and Health Care (COUNSENUTH) is a Tanzanian national non-profit, Non – Government Organization that was established in 1998 (Reg. 9495) with headquarters in Dar es Salaam. Post Title: Senior Program Officer – Nutrition (1 position)

Position Summary
As the Senior Program Officer for COUNSENUTH Programs, you will be fully responsible for coordination of Lishe Kijinsia Program in Chemba, Dodoma region. For the purpose of familiarization, you will be required to meet with field officers for Lishe Kijinsia every week via online platforms to determine progress of the program, identify challenges and find ways to solve them with support of the Management team. Initially, you will make visits to the field office in Chemba, for familiarization to program activities.
You will conduct Program monitoring from time to time and participate in field activities when needed. You will also need to maintain good public relations with all relevant stakeholders, including the Local Government Authorities, relevant Ministries, the UN Organization, Universities and Research Institutions and Development Partners.
Specific Responsibilities:

Coordinate Lishe Kijinsia Program in Chemba DC, Dodoma region, including active planning, implementation and supervision of activities and participation in weekly online meetings, involving DoP, Senior Advisors for Program and Research and Capacity Building periodically.

Assign and assist APOs with research and project implementation work such as

Collection of research data

Conducting project interventions
-
Preparation of reports
-
Learning of the organization’s work and its culture
-
Overseeing proper records keeping
-
Assisting in planning, workshops, training, materials development and other such activities.

Participating in monthly online meetings with project field staff in Chemba district
-
Program Development
-
Participate in the designing and development of new programs/projects
-
Prepare Annual and periodic plans according to COUNSENUTH Strategic Plan of Action

Participate in proposal writing, coming up with innovative ideas
-
Conduct staff development in their areas of project responsibilities.

Preparation of Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reports for Lishe Kijinsia and assist the APOs to prepare same reports for their projects

Participate in online and other project meetings organized for Lishe Kijinsia and for projects supported by APOs

Periodically participate in regional and council relevant meetings and training of District Nutrition Officers

Design publicity material for all projects under you and under APOs

In collaboration with M&E Officer conduct monitoring and evaluation of your assigned project and ensure projects supported by APOs are monitored and evaluated as well.

Perform any other work as assigned by authorities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
The applicant must:

Hold a Master’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Sociology, Community Development or any other related field

Hold a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition if the Master’s degree is not in Nutrition

Have at least 3 years of working experience in nutrition or related project/program.

Have experience in community engagement/mobilization and capacity building processes
-
Have experience of working with Government institutions, civil society organizations and community partners.

Is attentive to details and an effective communicator
-
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
